This trend is perfect for hot summer days
What used to be confined to the bedroom has now become a fashion statement: here are five satin shorts you’ll look stylish in, even when it’s hot outside.
For years, the satin midi skirt was the undisputed favourite in many people’s summer wardrobes. Right now, though, the shiny skirt is facing some competition – and, of all things, from a pair of shorts that used to be found mainly in the bedroom. Satin shorts with lace trim, also known as lace-trimmed shorts, are literally among the most refreshing trends of the season.

Although at first glance these shorts look like pyjamas, they work surprisingly well for everyday wear. The pyjama-style look has a lovely, relaxed feel, while the satin and lace give it a delicate and sophisticated appearance. When styled right, they look super chic and much more elegant than typical denim shorts. What’s even better is that you don’t have to worry too much about styling them. Pair them with a simple T-shirt or a loose-fitting linen blouse and you’re almost guaranteed to have a stylish outfit without overthinking it.
Longer versions are also available
These stylish shorts really shine on days when the temperature’s over 30 degrees. Of course, they’re no substitute for air conditioning, but there are probably few other pairs of shorts that feel this airy and light. And for those who aren’t fond of the typically very short styles, there are now longer and equally comfortable options available, including Bermuda-length shorts – so the trend is by no means limited to skimpy styles.
Despite the obvious summer vibes, however, their season doesn’t necessarily end when autumn comes round. Paired with tights, knee-high boots and a knit sweater, these shorts can be styled with warmer outfits too.
