Somehow my monitor does not recognise the HDMI with the 2nd PC next to the DP on the main PC. Or the 2nd PC (notebook) does not recognise the external BS. Am I making a mistake in thinking about the connection options?

Hello Peter, no, that's possible. I have also used DP and HDMI at the same time with this screen. Often even for the same laptop (two external screens for the same laptop, one via DP and the other via HDMI). The important thing is to set the bioscreen so that it recognises itself as "two screens", e.g. left and right half. You may also have to assign the sources manually.
