A battery normally lasts longer than 6 months. The battery level indicator alerts you when the battery needs to be replaced. With the four-way locking system, you can lock the door in any combination for indoors and outdoors. The vet mode, for example, allows your cat to enter the house but does not let it out, so that it is already inside for the next appointment with the vet.
