The history of Viking Footwear begins on January 17, 1920, with the founding of a rubber factory in Askim, Norway. The company's vision was galoshes that would protect shoes from snow, mud and wetness. As this met a great need among the population, this idea quickly turned into a flourishing business with galoshes, snow socks and gymnastic shoes. Gradually, Viking expanded production and began manufacturing rubber boots, work boots, leather shoes, hunting boots and football cleats. As a pioneer of footwear technology with a rubber component, Viking Footwear has been instrumental in shaping Norwegian industrial history, and today you can find not only the famous rubber boots from Viking Footwear with us, but also slippers, winter shoes and even matching shoe care.
