The Sniper Elite series has garnered a steadily growing fanbase since its premiere in 2005. And for this fanbase, the responsible team at Rebellion has some very good news: Sniper Elite 5 is set to be released next year.

This time, the master marksman is taken to France, where he supports the resistance towards the end of World War II in order to stop the mysterious Operation Kraken. The maps you will traverse are said to be the largest and most realistic in the series' history, based on real locations. Mechanically, in addition to the familiar stealth and sniper elements (of course still including the infamous "Kill Cam"), a new so-called "mobility system" is introduced. This is designed to provide even more ways to eliminate your targets. When the going gets tough, you can also attempt to take out high-ranking Nazi officers in cooperative mode.
