Product details

Medela Contact - Nipple Shields, Set of 2 Size: L/24mm. A nipple shield is a thin, flexible piece of silicone that is placed over the nipple before feeding to protect it. This allows breastfeeding to continue when latching is difficult or painful. They are particularly helpful if you have flat or inverted nipples, which can make it challenging for your baby to latch on. The perforated tip allows the baby to suck milk easily, which does not negatively affect the intimate breastfeeding experience.

Includes: 2 x Medela Contact Shields.

Features: Comprehensive application description. Nipple shields are useful in three situations: When the nipples are cracked or sore. This condition can be caused by various factors, so it is very important to identify the underlying cause. Initially, you might try hydrogel pads or Medela nipple shields, which are also available in our shop. If that doesn’t work, contact shields can help protect your nipples while breastfeeding.

If you have inverted or flat nipples, it may be difficult for your baby to latch on. Inverted or flat nipples often do not reach the baby's palate, so the sucking reflex may not occur. However, this does not exclude breastfeeding. Contact shields are a lifesaver, and they are tasteless and BPA-free, so your child won't notice any difference when using them.

If the baby has difficulty latching onto the breast. In this case, shields are a short-term solution. Once your baby gets used to breastfeeding and develops the sucking strength, you should start weaning them off the nipple shield.
