I haven't noticed it before, but now I've checked our power supply unit, which also hums a little. In any case, it doesn't bother us. It might help if you plug in the power supply further away to eliminate the noise (by removing it/behind furniture).

yes, you can insert batteries (not rechargeable batteries) into it and so it can also be operated for a few hours without a cable. The batteries in the baby unit are not charged when plugged in. The parent unit comes with rechargeable batteries, which are of course charged when plugged in.

Unfortunately, this is not possible. It is technically impossible because the two devices are tuned to each other (tap-proof).

Unfortunately, I cannot guarantee it, but as far as I remember I read somewhere that - if there are several devices in the reception area - they search for a free frequency when pairing.
In any case, I can recommend the device as such without any ifs and buts.
