How reliable is the Litter-Robot 4 when the faeces are a little more liquid? Is everything then passed?
Ours have just had diarrhoea & there are 2 scenarios. Either they spray all over you & then it doesn't matter if it's a Litter Robot or a normal loo - it has to be "sanitised" either way because it's just EVERYWHERE.... EVERYWHERE. Walls of the toilet, the entrance... it even splashed over the step... and outside the WC. But the mechanics etc. were spared. I wish I could say the same about the floor mat in the WC. Or they make a pile of mud on the litter. if they are nice and well behaved cats who like to scratch, there are usually no problems. If they leave it open like our little asi shit monsters (we love them very much), some of it sticks to the litter tray, which you then have to clean or scrape away, but it's unexpectedly easy. For us, however, it didn't require any more cleaning than a diarrhoea attack in the normal toilet. But with the robotet you always have clean litter and I think that's more pleasant than if everything stays full. Our recommendation to buy goes out.
Yes, unfortunately :) I currently have one cat. You can set three different times (cycle settings) for when it should start turning:
3 min / 7 min / 15 min / 25 min / 30 min.
I have set it to 7 minutes (average time for average lumps) and will probably increase it until the stools are solid again.
I think if you have good clumping litter inside it really shouldn’t be a problem provided the cat still covers their “business” … if it’s not directed at the litter on the bottom it could get messy…. - but in general it’s worth every penny!
