Product details
The original Even if it is not immediately recognizable: The F9F Panther is one of the classic jet old-timers. Built as a jet first by Grumman in 1945, the Panther followed in the footsteps of such famous cats as the Hellcat and Bearcat. The first flight took place in November 1947, and the F9F received its baptism of fire in the Korean War, where it served primarily as a ground combat fighter. Since the Panther could operate from both land bases and ships, it was flown by both the U.S. Navy and the Marines. Typical characteristics of the Panther F9F include a round fuselage cross-section, flowing jet shapes, and unswept wings with very elegant-looking tip tanks at the wingtips.
The model Due to the cat-like supple, but at the same time spacious fuselage shape, the F9F is ideally suited for the installation of an electric impeller. A 90 mm impeller (e.g., aero-naut Turbo Fan 1000) is a good choice, not least because of the large selection available. All air ducts are already prepared for this engine diameter. Although the model achieves above-average flight performance with the appropriate engine, it is also possible (at your own discretion) to install even larger fan engines (up to approximately 110 mm).
The model is characterized in particular by the following features:
- Highest possible fitting accuracy through the use of CNC-milled molds.
- Maximum prefabrication due to full GRP construction
- Air ducts already installed
- Colored surface of highest quality
- Optimized strength at lowest weight
- Plenty of space for RC installation and batteries (more than 20 SubC cells possible)
- The possibility to possibly install a somewhat larger engine later
- Despite high performance, good-natured flight behavior
The installation of a landing gear is possible, but not prepared by the manufacturer. Normally, the takeoff is done by a rubber skid. The wings are plug-in, but due to the compact dimensions of the F9F, they can also be permanently attached to the fuselage.
