At the Japanese imperial court, a long time ago, diplomatic ties between Japan and China were rekindled after a series of disputes. To celebrate this alliance, the Chinese Emperor presented his Japanese counterpart with a sacred animal, a giant panda, as a symbol of peace. The Emperor of Japan entrusted his courtiers (the players) with the challenging task of taking care of the animal by cultivating its bamboo garden. They must cultivate the land, irrigate it, and grow one of the three species of bamboo with the help of the imperial gardener. Players will have to contend with the insatiable hunger of the sacred animal, which is always in search of the most tender and juiciest bamboo shoots. Whoever grows the most bamboo while managing their pieces of land effectively and feeding the panda will win the game.
