Orléans (8th Edition)

In Orléans, players strive for dominance in medieval France through trade, construction, and science. The focus is on the city of Orléans and the surrounding Loire region, where players can embark on trade journeys to other cities to acquire coveted goods and build trading posts.

The key feature of Orléans is the way actions are triggered. Various characters such as farmers, craftsmen, knights, or monks are needed for this purpose. Each player assembles their own retinue throughout the game. Each profession comes with specific advantages. For example, knights expand the player's action radius and are also required to accompany trade journeys. In the village, players can hire craftsmen who assist in building trading posts and manufacturing tools. Scholars are essential for advancing progress. Lastly, it is worthwhile to be active in the monastery, as the help of monks reduces the impact of fate.

Players always want to perform more actions than they can, and there are many paths to achieve their goals. The game offers a wealth of possibilities: players can acquire additional actions, engage in one area or another. Depending on their strategy, players should consciously choose their retinue and coordinate all other game elements.

Our new edition of the classic Orléans can now be played with up to 5 players without the additional expansion for the 5th player. After many of our partners have already released this version, we have also adapted the 8th edition accordingly. Of course, the 5th player expansion is still available for customers who already own Orléans. The box size remains unchanged, but the weight has increased.
