Advent Calendar "Lübeck"

The Trave River embraces the old town of Lübeck, turning it into an island. Lübeck is a unique ensemble of medieval architecture, and the gabled houses and brick Gothic style typical of northern Germany are particularly diverse in Lübeck. This prompted UNESCO to declare the entire old town island of Lübeck a World Heritage Site in 1987. The most famous building in Lübeck is probably the Holstentor.

The seven towers of St. Jacob's Church, St. Mary's Church, St. Peter's Church, St. Aegidius Church, and the Cathedral are also landmarks of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck.
