As a carefree lion cub, Simba can hardly wait to become the king of the Pride Lands. His father Mufasa carefully prepares him for this role and explains the eternal circle of life to him. However, Mufasa's treacherous brother Scar has devised a wicked plot with the hyenas to usurp Simba's throne. He lures Mufasa into a deadly trap, forcing Simba to flee.
