The FT 58 from Beurer is a clinical thermometer with an infrared sensor for temperature measurement in the auditory canal. Although ear thermometers are not as accurate as conventional thermometers used to measure in the mouth, under the armpits, or rectally, the results are usually sufficient for home use. Due to their speed, ear thermometers are particularly suitable for measuring fever in small children who do not stay still for long.
