Can I connect this model to a timer? Does the switch lock into the "On" position so that current flows as soon as it is plugged in? Thanks for the answers!

Yes, the switch is either "On" or "Off", so it can be connected to a timer without any problems.

I can confirm this. Switch engages. Timer = no problemo.

Unfortunately, I don't know. I bought the lamp and gave it away.
But the larger model certainly has a switch-on button that does not lock.
