The Mongolian cashmere goat is native to the high mountains of the Himalayas. Despite the prevailing harsh and icy climate, it is provided with natural warmth by its fluffy fine undercoat. Each cashmere goat produces only 150 to 200 grams of the precious down each year, which is hand-combed from its fleece. In Italy, the delicate fibers are then spun into wonderfully soft cashmere yarn.
