I don't recommend buying Onkoy devices if you plan to use them with Spotify.
For three weeks now, spotify connect has not been working with my Onkyo TX-NR676E receiver, which I bought here on Digitect. This is not the first time. It has happened several times in the last 2 years. So far it has worked again after Onkyo provided a firmware update. Although to be honest it's a hassle every time and the update isn't there immediately (although to be honest you should be able to have updates on time when Spotify deploys an update ready). This time, however, Spotify connect has not worked for several weeks and there is still no firmware update from Onkyo. This is really bad customer service. I bought the device at the time precisely because it supported spotify connect (it said so on the Digitec website, on the box and in the information provided online by Onkyo). Now I can no longer listen to my music. I contacted Spotify first and they told me in essence that apparently only one Onkyo receiver (still) has spotify connect support and that it is apparently Onkyo's responsibility and decision which of their devices (still) support Spotify Connect. To me, that sounds like planned obsolence.... I have also contacted Onkyo support but have not received a response from them. It cannot be that a customer buys a device that is marketed as Spotify Connect compatible, but this central functionality (Spotify is the most used music streaming service in the world) is arbitrarily no longer supported after almost two years. Currently, 14 Spotify-compatible Onkyo receivers are sold on Digitec. However, none of the devices are listed on the official Spotify website of Spotify Connect compatible devices. I would definitely not buy an Onkyo receiver again to listen to my music via Spotify. And in general, I would avoid Onkyo due to their poor customer service and dishonest marketing practices.
