Hi everyone! I'm curious to hear your opinions on the different streaming media players available today. With the multitude of services and platforms (such as Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, Spotify and https://xplayiptv.com/), there are more and more ways to watch or listen to content online. But what do you think is the best media player for a smooth, enjoyable experience? Here are a few questions to fuel the discussion: Which player do you mainly use for your streaming services? What are the advantages and disadvantages of your current player? Do you prefer native applications or third-party players? What features or improvements would you like to see in a streaming media player? We look forward to reading your feedback and recommendations!

Does anyone know if the Swisscom Blue app is available directly via Android TV? i.e. if I can install it directly on an Android TV box without having to stream it from my smartphone, e.g. via Chromecast?

I have been using a Popcorn Hour A-500 for years. For some time now, I have not been able to call up the posters of the movie files or the subtitles, and there are also frequent crashes. Unfortunately, there have been no software updates for a long time. Does anyone know a worthy successor (no matter what brand) that could replace it? Important is the playback of as many formats as possible incl. ISO files directly from the NAS, subtitle retrieval and a good remote control. Many thanks for your feedback!

Dear Digitec team, You have 21 variants of the Google Chromecast on sale - with some glaring price differences. Unfortunately, the master data is extremely poorly maintained, so that the differences are not clear to me. Either you need to streamline your range or update the master data properly. And by the way: I can only find 2 variants in the Google Shop and these are also cheaper than yours. As I have an old TV, the HD version of the Chromecast is enough for me. Is this the right one? https://www.galaxus.ch/de/s1/product/google-chromecast-mit-google-tv-hd-google-tv-google-assistant-streaming-media-player-22459354 Chris

Hello, since Zappiti has been discontinued since autumn 2023, do you plan to add alternative products to the range? For example from Zidoo: https://www.zidoo.de

I am looking for a solution for the following: I would like to feed 2 Smart TVs wirelessly with data from a USB stick. On the USB stick are photos, videos and PPT's, which should be shown on 2 or 3 TVs. I could of course buy 3 USB sticks and connect them to the TVs, but I am looking for a more elegant solution. Are there any receivers or similar that could be somewhere central and don't have to be near the TVs?

So, after 7 years of WDTV and HD LED, the new UHD OLED is coming and unfortunately the WDTV has to go. Unfortunately, because the thing simply played everything and did so seamlessly and without any problems. When I read through the reviews and comments of the currently available streamers, I feel sick. Does anyone want to recommend a good streamer or perhaps another solution for linking my NAS via hardwire to my new OLED? Direct is probably possible but I doubt that the LG has a good enough app and power for 4K UHD DV and Dolby Atmos. Dune HD looks ok. Zappiti, if they finally release it, might also. What about AppleTV and Shield TV Pro? I was a big fan of the WDTV because of the way the NAS integrates network shares and then displays them like an explorer list. Select a film and off you go. No need to select an app and tinker with stuff like that. Or rather Raspberry PI self-made? But I got bogged down. It's important to me that everything works seamlessly, that the thing plays everything there is (like my PC) or at least converts imperceptibly, modern and fluid UI would also be nice. DV, HDR10+, HLG, Atmos, all must. Logically packaged in MKV containers.

Hello everyone, as a product request: The "Dynalink TV Box" is delivered with Android TV (10) in Germany, an update would already be available. A short test can be found here [https://www.digitalkamera.de/Zubeh%C3%B...], and according to gxxx the manufacturer link is attached [https://dynalink.life/products...]. Thank you for your consideration :-)

When can we order Zappiti's new 2021 models such as the Neo, Reference, and Signature? Since they now handle Dolby Vision and HDR 10+, they are the product many have been waiting for.

Would it be possible to include the Thomson THA100 Smart TV Box in your range? Thank you.

Hello together I am looking for a player that I can load with movies (copy via USB), then take with me and connect directly via HDMI to a TV abroad, e.g. in a hotel, and use it via remote control. The "WD Elements Portable HDMI" actually does its job well, but it has its problems with UHD and HD MKV. Does anyone know of a device of the latest generation? It may also be capable of more.

Hello all. I am looking for a stick or something like that that I can fill with pictures or graphics via USB and display these files on the TV via the HDMI connection. Is there anything like this? I don't need to stream anything via WLAN and I don't want to connect it to the TV via USB. Just display what is stored on the stick on the TV. Thanks for your help.

Hello all I am thinking about getting Apple TV, but now I have a few questions/concerns: I would like to get away from UPC & co. as a provider, as the prices are too high and unjustified in my view. How can I do this better via Apple TV? I would now need more simply an Internet provider for the socket at home and can then obtain TV via the Apple TV box from online TV providers? Do you have any recommendations for TV and Internet from other providers with a good/better price/performance ratio? What are the effective advantages/disadvantages of Apple TV? Many thanks in advance for your help!

Will the recently introduced Google Chromecast with Google TV also be sold in Switzerland or can it be ordered from Digitec in the near future?

I am looking for a (cheap) media player primarily for Amazon Prime Video and Netflix. With the Amazon Fire Stick, Prime Video bizarrely doesn't work in Switzerland, and on the existing PS3, Prime Video sometimes runs very sluggishly. Netflix, on the other hand, runs perfectly, but is very slow to start. On the Swisscom TV box, Netflix is fast, but unfortunately not really usable due to the frequent micro jerks. So we need another device that can handle both services. Full HD would be enough. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hello people I have a Shield TV box (2017 version), at the moment I use it mostly for Netflix, but would like to expand its use. Can I run Plex as a server and player on it? I can't really figure out on the internet whether this should work and with which version of the Shield. Greetings Brainy88

Hello I recently switched to an LG OLED C9 TV and couldn't wait to watch TV with a top picture in the future. Unfortunately, my expectations were bitterly disappointed as the picture quality from my UPC TV box really leaves a lot to be desired in terms of colours and sharpness of the picture. I have tried changing the HDMI cable, changing the TV picture settings, changing the settings on the UPC TV box, but nothing satisfies me. I wonder if you have had the same experience and if the picture quality of a TV streaming service is better than that of the UPC TV box and if such a change is worthwhile. Thank you for your feedback. Greetings

Dear digitec I am looking for a "streaming media player" for audio only. My main search criteria would be an output for USB audio (for an external DAC) and compatibility with Apple Airplay 2. But there are no corresponding search filters - can you please add them? Or have I searched in the wrong product category? Actually, the coolest thing would be if I could set search filters without first committing to a device category. After all, the boundaries between computer/audio/video devices are becoming more and more blurred... Best regards, Philipp

Hello together I am looking for a media player similar to the Apple TV that I can plug into the HDMI input of my TV. I would then like to use my iPhone to stream my films and YouTube, Zatoo, Amazon Prime etc. to the TV. The problem is that I don't have W-LAN access in the caravan. So it should work without it. And if it does, since it's in the caravan, not as expensive as an Apple TV. Thanks for your help.

The Ethernet adapter for the Chromecast is currently no longer available for Switzerland or with a Swiss plug (or standard Germany/EU). There is an alternative from UGREEN: https://www.ugreen.com/product.... I would welcome the inclusion of this adapter or other UGREEN products in the Digitec range.

Good day I am looking for a media player for an exhibition. Various video contributions from a playlist are to be played automatically as soon as the device receives power. The device must also not be vulnerable to frequent power failures. An HDMI output is a must. It should also have enough possibilities to expand the memory with a stick and/or card. Does anyone have a good tip for me? Thank you very much!
