According to rumours about Devolo, I have found the following. I think Digitec should take them out of their range. The topic was mentioned here 4 months ago, but as we all know, nothing is read from the past ;-) No, Devolo is not ceasing operations completely, but will cease operations of its Devolo Home Control smart home cloud on 31 December 2025, which will severely limit the system; home network products (Powerline/WLAN) and industrial solutions will remain as Devolo strategically realigns, but users will have to adjust to offline operation, loss of remote access and voice control. What does this mean for users? End of cloud functions: From 2026, remote access, voice control and adding/changing devices and scenes will no longer be available. Offline mode: Time controls and sequences that have already been set up will continue to work, but the system is essentially "frozen". App removal: The Devolo Home Control app is removed from the app stores. What can those affected do? Switch to other systems: Rockethome offers a switching service to take over devices (with a plan and reprogramming). Alternatively, Z-Wave-compatible gateways can be used, but this means a complete reinstallation. What remains: The hardware (Z-Wave devices) remains, but requires a new "brain" (gateway) for control. Background: The shutdown is part of a strategic realignment at Devolo, which is focussing more on home networks and industry. The company has also struggled with financial difficulties in the past.

Powerline is often used to avoid WLAN. I suggest adding "no WLAN" to the "WLAN Standard" filter.

Why Devolo components are still being sold is questionable. According to the letter, Devolo will discontinue its platform on 31 December 2025. After this date, the components will no longer be controllable. Also very tricky from a legal point of view. Let's see how retailers like Galaxus behave.

I am aware that the adapters have an integrated socket, but I would like to keep this free for other devices such as a lamp or even a TV. Would it not be possible to provide the RJ-45 plug(s) with PoE (Power over Ethernet)? This would drastically simplify the implementation of access points and also make it nicer. After all, the network interfaces are directly connected to the power grid.

Are there any PLC switches with VLAN management? The Devolo dLan pro models did, but they are no longer produced. I can't find a reference in the specifications of the new models.

Hello together To test the connection via Powerline, I have received - an older Devolo kit --> dLAN 500 AVplus - a Synology RT2600ac router (office room HomeOffice) --> Yes, the router is overkill for HomeOffice, I only got it for testing :-) Powerline is connected/installed as follows 1 x Devolo in the living room at the router/modem (master) 1 x Devolo in a room (home office) 1 x Devolo in the basement (NAS) With the Devolo Cockpit it shows me speeds (average values - fluctuates sometimes 15 more or less) Devolo living room --> Devolo office room : 70Mbit/s Devolo office room --> Devolo living room: 112 Mbit/s Devolo living room --> Devolo basement: 80 Mbps Devolo cellar --> Devolo living room: 121 Mbit/s In the office room, the Synology router is connected directly to the Devolo via LAN. Scanner, printer, smartphone, Nintendo Switch and work notebook via WLAN. Telephone without video (MS Teams, Zoom or via the softphone) sounds like a bad connection When screen sharing, all online services (webmail, Onedrive, project tools) are also extremely slow. When viewing in the Devolo Cockpit, the transfer rates drop to approx. 70Mbit/s. On a trial basis, I was connected to the router in the living room via WLAN for two days, where I had these losses maybe once. Is it the power grid or the Devolos? Should I switch to MeshWiFi or install a Pawerline Gigagate with more up-to-date Powerline adapters? Where should I start to find a solution? Because if it's the power grid, more up-to-date powerlines probably won't do much good, I suppose. Thank you and greetings

Good day together I have a somewhat stupid question, I don't know my way around too well. A colleague told me you could just plug an adapter into the power socket and get on the internet that way. I didn't believe my ears, but I just want to make sure now that I'm not missing something there.... Is it possible to get on the internet (from home) without an RJ-45 WAN floor socket? I hope someone takes me seriously, the question is probably quite silly. Kind regards - anon

You are supposed to connect a powerline adapter directly to the socket, but this is quite critical with our sockets in Switzerland because there is usually only one 3-socket and the adapter then covers all of them at once. Are there any special or recommended socket strips that do not negatively influence the powerline adapter too much?

Hello together In my new flat (1st floor) I have a fibre optic connection and RJ45 in every room (3 rooms). There is a hobby room on the 1st floor. There I have no telephone network and no RJ45 sockets. As far as I know (this is being clarified), the room is most likely not in the same electricity network as the flat. I have no reception in the hobby room and therefore wanted to buy Powerline Powerlan from Devolo. But I don't know if it's any use if the hobby room isn't on the same power grid. Would a repeater/AP be more useful or how can I get the signal from the flat on the first floor to the hobby room in the basement? Thank you very much in advance.

Does anyone have any experience of whether it is possible to operate a powerline adapter with a CH plug abroad if an intermediate plug (CH to Schuko) is inserted in between? Or also the reverse case: Does a Schuko powerline adapter work without problems with full power in Switzerland if an adapter plug is plugged in?

Hi, I have a UPC subscription that is supposed to give me 600 mbps surfing except that the powerline I am currently using only gives me 100 mbps cable speed. I would need something that would allow me to have a good cable speed and a stable WIFI connection too. I have the impression that the powerline models I see have either good WIFI speed and not much LAN speed (often it's not even noted the LAN speed) or it's all cable with great speed and no WIFI. If you can help me, you are welcome!

I am planning to install a powerline adapter for my PC. Now after reading the review and various comments, I have a question: can I test my powerline or similar to know which product is best? Every site has different top adapters and reviews, and of course I don't want to buy 10 different ones and return them.

do you know if the earth and neutral are used separately in powerlines? In the house where I live, the two poles still hang together on the same wire... so I wonder if this would cause a gross power loss?

Hello, I would like to connect two different devices (possibly 3-4), which are in different rooms (TV in the living room, PC in the bedroom), to my modem using Powerline (also in the living room but approx. 7m away from the TV). Now I see different packages here (starter pack etc.). I was able to identify 2 different types of Powerline adapters, one for connecting to the modem and one for connecting to the end devices (TV, PC). Is there anything else I need to consider? I have a fibre optic connection with 100mbps speed. Could you possibly give me a recommendation? TP-LINK TL-WPA8630PKIT (1200Mbit/s) how is this? Thank you!

I am planning to move into the 3rd floor of a recently renovated apartment building and want to set up a small maker space in the basement where some of the devices would benefit from an iNet connection. How high can I expect to get my iNet from the 3rd floor down to the basement with a Powerline adapter?

Hello I already have a set of devolo powerlin adapters at home, but now I need to expand it to have internet in another room. Are the "newer" devolo adapters available here also compatible with, I assume, older ones? I would use the integrated lan sockets in the flat, but the cabling doesn't seem to be quite designed for this, so -> powerline.

Hello, I have a few wifi's in my neighbourhood and a few electrosensitive people as well. In order to reduce my wifi radiation, I would like to reduce the transmission power and use a wifi adapter via PowerLan as a substitute in the important rooms (living room, study). However, reduce its transmission power to 10-15 metres. At the same time, also significantly reduce the transmission power of the DSL router. (As little radiation as possible, and only as much transmission power as necessary). I have found that the full transmission power is not necessarily needed for full data throughput. At line-of-sight distance and short distances, it can be reduced to 25% and it still works perfectly (tested with Frit!Box 3390 and 7270). Unfortunately, this cannot be set with the Swisscom modem. Can the transmission power also be reduced with PowerLan adapters, and if so, which ones?

Hello, I have my Swisscom router in the office and would like to connect my SwissTV 2.0 UHD in the living room. I know Powerline is an option, but on top of that I don't have a top wifi connection everywhere from my office, so I was thinking of making a Powerline connection to the living room and connecting an Access and the TV box there. What do you think of this? Do I have too much thread loss? But is there a better solution?

I have done a firmware update on my 1200+ starter kit. Since then, the HomeLED on my 1200+ ac Wifi adapter has been on steady red. All 200 network adapters are recognised in the Devolo Cockpit, but not the Wifi adapter. Even a reset using a paper clip (at the bottom, next to the LAN connections) does nothing. I haven't found a solution yet. If I connect it to the notebook via LAN cable, it is not recognised either. Does anyone have any ideas?

Has no powerline supplier actually invented a product that could be installed on a ceiling light socket? Sure, you could make something yourself, but it probably wouldn't look as nice.
