Hello community. I am currently planning to switch to Init7 and have chosen the ASUS GT-BE98 for this purpose. Can anyone tell me if this router works with Fiber7 (10Gb) and if they have already put it into operation? It was recommended to me to purchase the SFP+ module directly from Init7. Ideally, someone already has this exact combination in operation with Fiber7 and can tell me more about it... Thanks in advance for the feedback!

Does anyone know if another router also works with Salt Fiber? Preferably directly on the fibre connection. Possibly also in combination with the Salt router in bridge mode (although I have the impression that bridge mode is not possible, at least in the current firmware version).

Hello together Has anyone had any experience with this offer? I would like to operate my own router after the ONT-Box. Is this possible without any problems? Or is the ONT-Box somehow blocked by Sky and preconfigured with a MAC connection to the router supplied? Sky provides the following devices for this purpose: - ONT-Box ->> Huawei OptiXstar HN8010Ts-20 - Router ->> TP-Link HB-210 Sky support was useless. EDIT: 05/01/2026 I was able to connect my router (GL-MT6000) after the ONT-Box without any problems. No configuration necessary on the WAN port of the router.

1st box delivered and connected - fibre LED on the box flashes, but no Internet connection is established after several hours. If the fibre cable is unplugged, the fibre LED goes out. Thus, light seems to come from the OTO socket or the line seems to be patched (unclear whether to the correct provider). Contact the Yallo hotline - To prove that the box has been connected correctly, send pictures of the installation to Yallo by email. 3. 2nd level support contacts you by phone - Organise a local fibre optic technician to check the installation on site. 4. the fibre optic technician checks the line - everything is ok (-12dBm reception power). Technician goes to head office, checks optical patch cable from my line to Yallo rack. OK I ask the technician what the problem is: He says: It has happened several times with Yallo that the MAC address of the router was stored incorrectly. Yallo does not get back to me until I ask them two days later: "The router must be defective" - they send a new one. I ask whether the MAC address is stored correctly on my old router - it is the same - so it shouldn't be the problem. New router connected - fibre LED flashes again - but no link is established. 7. again contact with Yallo hotline. They do not know where the problem is. My question: Please tell me which MAC address is stored: Yallo: MAC of the "defective" router. I give the MAC of the new router: Yallo: "Unfortunately we cannot adjust the MAC, 2nd level support will contact you". Terror without end... To be continued.

Like many others here, I am interested in the Salt Fiber offer - mainly because of the alleged speed. Now the whole thing seems a bit too good to be true. Are there any people here who already have Salt Fiber and would like to share their experiences? Can the promised speed actually be achieved? What hardware do you use (PCI cards etc.)?

I operate a Fritzbox 4690 behind a Salt Fiber Box X6 and use the Fritzbox instead of the Salt Fiber Box as a DECT centre for my Fritz phones. When setting up the Fritzbox, I entered the SIP data from Salt (telephone number, user name, password, SIP server/registrar). Unfortunately I couldn't get it to work. Has anyone had similar experiences or already got it to work?

Hello together I'm currently looking for a mesh system that delivers the highest possible stable speed from the living room to the bedroom. That's where my PC and other devices are located. I have a 10 Gbit line from Sunrise (Connect Box 3) and would like to utilise it as much as possible, even though I am aware that Wi-Fi cannot achieve this completely. Which mesh systems can you recommend (price/performance), especially for a 98 m² flat with rather thick walls and two doors in between? Thank you! LG

Is it possible to reuse a 5G router as a WLAN repeater that only establishes an Internet connection (automatically as a back-up solution) using a SIM card in an emergency? Is that even possible? The one device that worked well as a 5G router is no longer needed. So it would be exciting... Adding an access point to the WAN port should work anyway, but that's not the goal. We would be very grateful for any information.

Does anyone have experience with 10G routers and Initi7? For example ASUS GT-BE98 seems to be interesting, but you need an SFP+ module and a converter SFP+->LAN.

Hi community! I have a question that you may have an opinion: I have a SIM card with unlimited data option and I'm using it inside an old iPhone which I sue it as a personal hotspot only. Is there a seperate device like a modem that I can put this SIM card in it and act as a continuous personal hotspot? I only need my mobile devices to connect to it and I will not move it to anywhere. Hello Community I currently have the Sunrise Connect Box 3 (https://www.sunrise.ch/en...) and because I can't change the DNS settings there, I would like to set the Sunrise Connect Box 3 to bridge mode and use the 7590 as a router instead. Does anyone have a similar setup and are there any experience reports here? What do I need to pay attention to? Are there any important points to consider before making the switch? Hello, We have the Salt Fibre x6 box (black box). We have connected a TP-Link TL-SX195 switch (https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/tp-link-tl-sx105-5-ports-netzwerk-switch-15794920) to port 5 (10GBit). After just a few seconds, the switch causes a fault in the network. All connections to the Internet become extremely slow. The connection speed drops to 10 KBit and even to zero. I suspect a bufferbloat. Which the CNLab bufferfloat test seems to confirm. Immediately when I remove the connection on port 5, the speed goes back to normal. I suspect that the switch and salt box are not compatible. Does anyone have a 10Gbit switch on this port 5 with which it works? If so, I would appreciate a short message. Thank you

Is it possible to configure the modem supplied by Galaxus for their 10Gbs fibre optic internet service in bridge mode? I have my own Synology RT6600ax router which I want to use to connect my 4 other Synology RT6600ax and WR560 access points in order to benefit from maximum Mesh Wifi coverage (of course the 10Gbs will be limited by the Synology's 2.5Gps, as Synology still doesn't support 10Gbs).

Hi I am looking for a replacement for my Sunrise Internet Box, which is unusable. I would like to have just a fibre modem, so that I can connect from the fibre network to the LAN without NAT or anything else, and then connect any other router. Can you recommend a fibre modem that will work with Sunrise fibre? If possible, as small as possible, not as huge as the Sunrise Box. NAT / Firewall / WLAN is not needed. I have other hardware at the back for this. It's really only about the modem.

Hello together I have the Yallo Internet Box Home Fibre Box 2 and would like to change the default IP range from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.50.1, for example. Unfortunately, I can't find a way to change this in the router settings. I have also read here in the forum that the bridge mode has been removed in newer versions of the router. If this is true, it seems to further limit the configuration options. Does anyone have experience with this device and know whether it is still possible to change the IP range? If not, is there perhaps another solution or an alternative router that could be used?

Hello I would like to connect my 5G mobile phone to a WiFi router using a USB cable and use it to access the Internet (i.e. mobile phone and WiFi router only). I'm not satisfied with the hotspot stability of my mobile phone using a "personal hotspot", but it works fine via USB tethering (with Windows 11). Of course there are 5G routers - but I would like a router with the above range of functions that is as inexpensive as possible. Can anyone recommend a product that does this (it's an Android phone)?

Does anyone have any experience of which fibre optic router offers comparable WLAN performance to the Internetbox 2 from Swisscom? Background: My new Internet provider - GGA Maur - has provided me with a fibre router whose WLAN does not provide any of the performance of Swisscom's Internetbox 2. As a result, I now only have a few Mbits speed in the room directly adjacent to the router location. Internetbox 2 still provides full speed. I would like to continue to have a modem and WLAN router in the same device.
