Product details
ESD PETG is an advanced ESD-safe material designed for use in critical applications that require protection against electrostatic discharge (ESD). It is manufactured using state-of-the-art multi-walled carbon nanotube technology, compounded technology, and precise extrusion processes.
Chemical Resistance: Unstressed PETG tensile bars exhibit good resistance to diluted aqueous solutions of mineral acids, bases, salts, and soaps, as well as to aliphatic hydrocarbons, alcohols, and a variety of oils. Halogenated hydrocarbons, short-chain ketones, and aromatic hydrocarbons can dissolve or swell the plastic.
Typical applications include:
- Semi-con: Hard disk components, wafer handling, fixtures, enclosures, and connectors
- Industrial: Conveying, measuring, and capturing applications
Target conductivity for 3DXSTAT ESD PETG: 10^7 to 10^9 Ohm surface resistance on a 3D printed sample using a concentric ring test method.
Note: Internal studies have shown that increased extruder temperatures can achieve higher conductivity. Conversely, lower extruder temperatures have resulted in lower conductivities. Each printer is set up differently and has varying part geometries. Therefore, expect some testing time to understand how this filament performs in your specific printer or application. However, do not exceed 270 °C to minimize the risk of polymer degradation.
Surface conductivity depending on extruder temperature: The surface resistance of the printed ESD-safe part depends on the extruder temperature of the printer. For example, if your tests indicate that the part is too insulating, increasing the extruder temperature will lead to improved conductivity.
