What counts for me in a watch is the combination of ergonomics, functionality and design. I have already tested the two predecessor models of the T-Rex intensively (both still work perfectly, by the way). With the T-Rex 2, I particularly liked the multifunctionality and the very robust construction: water, dust and use on trail runs, where the watch sometimes scratches over rough surfaces, are no problem...
Smartwatches and fitness wristbands are now real all-rounders: they serve as heart rate monitors and altimeters, count steps, calculate distances travelled and calories burned, sometimes using GPS, and analyse sleep patterns. Some can be used to play music, make phone calls or send and receive messages...
