The Amazon Fire TV 4 is the best when it comes to apps and streaming. The picture and sound quality are sufficient for everyday TV viewing. However, it lacks maximum brightness and rich blacks for a real home cinema feeling, and we particularly miss Dolby Vision and HDR 10+ in the features table.
The Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2nd gen.) moves to the top of Amazon's streaming bars. It scores with flawless HD and UHD streams and offers all relevant streaming services. Control is even easier thanks to the improved remote control. Ambient mode and the widgets are nice additional functions. Overall, however, the improvements are manageable.
With the second-generation Fire TV Stick 4K Max, Amazon is once again launching one of the most powerful media players on the market in stick format. The compact entertainer shows strong performance, good operation and many practical features when tested.
