When you connect your iPod to the stereo system, active speakers, or the TV, you can control your music, slideshows, and much more from the sofa using the Apple Remote. Simply place the iPod in the Apple Universal Dock and select a playlist, slideshow, or video. Then sit back and enjoy the show. And if you want to hear the next song, you don’t have to get up. Just press Next on the Apple Remote. Someone is calling on your iPhone? Then press Pause and resume playback later.

With the Apple Remote, you can control your music, photos, videos, and DVDs from anywhere in the room. You can also increase the volume, activate shuffle, skip to the next DVD chapter, or play slideshows, home videos from iMovie, and even movie trailers. Keep in mind that Apple TV can only be connected to one remote at a time. If you want to play with multiple players, you will need an iOS device or a controller.
