Product details
B+W Infrared Filter
B+W Infrared Filter - the special filter for extreme contrasts. With the B+W Infrared Filter, the existing residual sensitivity can be utilized for experimental black-and-white photos with high contrasts.
Green leaves and grasses are depicted from bright to white. A "wood effect" with a dramatic contrast between clouds and sky can be achieved.
Practical Tips
- The IR effect occurs only in bright light.
- Set image sharpness before attaching the filter.
- Pay attention to infrared engraving (if available) on the lens.
- Choose a small aperture.
- Determine exposure time through a series of tests.
- Use a tripod due to long exposure times.
Note
- Check the IR compatibility of your camera. Point the IR remote control towards the camera and press a function button. If a white light spot appears on the camera monitor, the camera sensor has sufficient residual sensitivity.
- IR images need to be optimized in the image program afterwards.
- Convert the color image to black and white.
- Increase contrasts automatically, preferably using a histogram.
IR Red Dark 695 (092)
This less intense infrared filter does not block the entire visible light spectrum and allows for shots with both visible and invisible IR components. The black-and-white contrasts are not as high.
