HPE Common Slot power supplies (CS) feature a uniform electrical and physical design that allows for tool-free installation while the system is running in HPE server and storage solutions. CS power supplies are available in several high-efficiency input and output options, enabling users to select the optimally sized power supply for specific server/storage configurations and environments. This flexibility helps minimize power losses, reduce overall energy costs, and prevent capacity from being tied up in the data center. As a key component of HPE Thermal Discovery Services, CS power supplies offer the highest efficiency in the IT industry (up to 96%). This allows customers to reduce energy consumption per server by up to 60 W and overall energy consumption in the data center by up to 10% (compared to the power consumption estimate of ProLiant G6). CS Platinum Plus and Titanium power supplies are also required to enable HPE Power Discovery Services, which are designed to increase compute density and reduce data center outages.
