Ed Miller, a writer, survived the crash of his car in Brody Canyon, California, unscathed. No one was found in the wreckage of the car, but Ed claims he was traveling with his wife and daughter. He is traumatized by the accident and begins to suffer from severe bouts of acrophobia. As he seeks therapy for this, he tries to uncover what really happened on that tragic day.
