The sensor with PIR technology (PIR stands for passive infrared) reacts to minimal local temperature changes, which it perceives as infrared light with a specific wavelength. It registers people, vehicles, and animals entering the detection area while ignoring swirling leaves or moving branches. It also does not consider fluctuations in general temperature, such as from sunlight. This way, the motion detector avoids false triggers and ensures reliable detection of relevant objects.
