The battery in the DMW-BG2 can be changed without having to turn off the camera. In power-intensive shooting modes, the batteries of the LUMIX S1RII and the DMW-BG2 supply power to the camera simultaneously, allowing for more dynamic shots without external adapters or cables. The DMW-BG2 offers the same grip and operability as the camera body.
