All Profoto softboxes feature a recessed front for attaching a honeycomb grid. The honeycomb grid reduces the beam angle to 50°. In other words, it provides more focused light and minimizes excessive spill light. This allows you to direct the light more precisely. By limiting light spread, a honeycomb grid helps create more contrast in images, resulting in a more dramatic and atmospheric look. Reducing unwanted spill light is especially useful when you want to avoid illuminating the background or surrounding areas.
