Yes, huawei watches are compatible with Android phones. Just download the Huawei health app and you're ready to go. Even compatible with Apple phones, but then only to a limited extent.

I have a Huawei myself. The watch and the app are compatible with the Android operating system.
Huawei Health provides professional sports guidance for your sport（Phones with Android 4.4.4 and above are supported, but the RAM need to be greater than 2G.
The Huawei Health app should therefore also work on the Xiaomi if it has the Android operating system. Try downloading the app, it will show if it is compatible with the device. If in doubt, ask a specialist.

Unfortunately, no calls can be accepted. I do the updates regularly and so far it does not work. Messages can also "only" be read and not answered. Whatsapp messages often appear twice, which is rather tedious.
