Does this NAS WD My Cloud EX2 Ultra have its own WiFi interface in addition to the RJ45/ 1 Gbit LAN port? Are there two NICs built in? 1. a NIC with output (RJ45/ 1 Gbit LAN port) through which the device can be hooked up to the network via Ethernet cable. + 2. a wireless NIC that only needs SSID + password (but no Ethernet cable) to be connected to the network. My "problem": I need a NAS that can work with my NETGEAR Nighthawk M1 mobile 4G hotspot.

It has no wifi NIC, only Ethernet RJ45, just connect it to your router, then you can access it with wifi.

Is the unit directly accessible via WLan - i.e. without internet access? I need a "network data storage" on which I can create shares for a local "WiFi network" without Internet access! According to the specifications, the device has "wireless transmission / WLan). In the technical data sheet (and at WD itself) only the RJ45/ 1 Gbit LAN port is mentioned as network connection.

Within the network, you can share everything without the Internet. You only need internet if you want to access your data externally.
