A hybrid cable transmits part of the data via optical conductors (light signals) and another part through copper wires. The advantage of such an active-optical cable is the much longer transmission distance that can be achieved, as light signals are much less susceptible to electrical interference. Furthermore, hybrid cables are lighter and have a smaller cable diameter compared to pure copper cables (at comparable lengths).

USB-C is becoming increasingly popular and is the standard that manufacturers of portable electronic devices have agreed upon. In addition to tablets and smartphones, USB-C is also used as a charging interface in workstations.

USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) is limited to short distances. With the hybrid cable, longer distances are now possible. Its compact connector design and flexible cable make it excellent for VR applications.

Note: Not all devices with a USB-C interface support 60-watt fast charging (PD) or data transfer of 10 Gbps (SuperSpeed USB 10 Gbps). Please check with your device manufacturer for this information.

Not suitable for docking stations with video support, as the DP Alt Mode for transmitting video signals is not supported.
