The SCALANCE XF204-2BA DNA Managed is a Layer 2 flat switch with 4 x 10/100 Mbit/s RJ45 and 2 x bus adapter interfaces for connecting S2 devices to an R1 system. It is suitable for building networks, particularly in process automation, and can be used in various industries: pharmaceuticals/chemicals, oil and gas, shipbuilding, food and beverage industry, cement, etc. Additionally, it is suitable for use in explosion-hazardous areas of Zone 2.

The ultra-slim design in SIMATIC ET 200SP format allows for optimal space savings in control cabinets and use in small enclosures. The switch offers very high availability through Y-switch functionality for integrating S2 devices into a highly available R1 system. A redundant ring on the device side further increases availability.

Flexible and easy integration into automation systems is supported by a wide selection of different bus adapters. It is suitable for use in all common process control systems, e.g., PCS 7, due to NAMUR NE 21 compliance, conformal coating, and derating from 2000 m (installation height up to 4000 m).

The managed Layer 2 compact switch provides redundant 24 V DC power supply, 4 x 10/100 Mbit/s RJ45 ports electrically, 2 x bus adapter interfaces, and is a PROFINET IO device with dual network access. A wide range of accessories, such as various bus adapters for the PCS7 environment, the exchange medium C-PLUG, and different Fast Connect cable variants (including pre-assembled) complete the system.
