It is one of the most common fibre optic connector types. The design of the LC connector is based on a single-fibre ceramic ferrule with a diameter of 1.25 mm for an optical fibre. Due to its compact design, the LC connector enables a high packing density, which is why it is often used for fibre optic switches.
