The new Varta LCD Plug Charger+ is compatible with all AA, AAA, and 9V NiMH batteries. An additional USB output allows external devices to be charged simultaneously. It enables simultaneous charging of various combinations regarding the number, charge status, capacities, and sizes of the batteries. A shutdown procedure utilizes the fact that the voltage (Delta U) slightly decreases when the batteries are fully charged. A safety timer turns off after a certain period, regardless of the charging status. Defective cells are not charged, thus preventing damage to the charger. It detects faulty, unsuitable, or incorrectly inserted battery types. Mobile devices can be charged via USB cable through the charger’s USB interfaces. There is protection against incorrectly inserted cells. The charging time is 4 hours.
