The LAOWA 105mm f/2 (T3.2) STF lens is a highly sharp portrait lens with beautiful bokeh. STF stands for Smooth Trans Focus. In addition to the aperture with 14 blades that creates a circular opening, the lens features a second aperture element with 8 blades. This extraordinary optical design causes the distracting diffraction rings around the image points to disappear, resulting in smoothly transitioning image elements in the lens's out-of-focus areas. A separate ring allows for independent adjustment of this naturally appearing and beautiful diffuse blur (bokeh) from the aperture setting, making the transition from the sharp to the out-of-focus area more harmonious. The larger the aperture, the stronger this effect becomes.

The high-quality metal housing contains 11 elements in 8 groups, including 1 HFR (high refractive) element, 3 LD (low dispersion) elements, and 1 APD (apodization) element. This optical design produces images with extremely high sharpness and minimal chromatic aberration. Aperture and focus adjustments are made manually.
