Best Proto-pasta products in the 3D printer filament category

On this page you'll find a ranking of the best Proto-pasta products in this category. To give you a quick overview, we've already ranked the most important information about the products for you.

1. Proto-pasta conductive PLA filament

The conductive PLA can be printed with the same settings as regular PLA. It is made from Natureworks, a conductive carbon.

2. Proto-pasta Conductive PLA

Proto Pasta Conductive-PLA Filament is one of the best electrically conductive filaments on the market. This filament can be used, among other things, for printing antistatic components or in low-voltage applications. The electrical conductivity of the filament is not comparable to copper or other conductors. The use of conductive filament is reserved for experienced users, and using the objects under electrical current is expressly at your own risk.

How conductive is this filament? The conductivity of printed objects depends on many factors, such as the geometry of the component, the infill used, and the layer height. Therefore, the values provided here should be understood as guidelines and cannot be guaranteed.

• Volume resistivity of the molded plastic (not 3D printed): 15 Ohm-cm
• Volume resistivity of 3D-printed parts along the layers (x / y): 30 Ohm-cm
• Volume resistivity of 3D-printed parts across the layers (z): 115 Ohm-cm
• Resistance at a length of 10 cm and 1.75 mm filament: 2-3 kOhm
• Resistance of 10 cm length with 2.85 mm filament: 800-1200 Ohm

Suggested applications: Protopasta Conductive PLA is an excellent choice for low-voltage applications, touch sensor projects, and using prints to interact with touchscreens that require low conductivity. Generally, anything that you can run through a 1K resistor should be possible with our material, provided you design the conductors to the correct size. This will easily allow an Arduino to run with low power if you are not operating many devices. Also, experiment with ESD or 3D-printed bearings!

Strength and performance: The manufacturer has not conducted significant mechanical testing on this product.

3. Proto-pasta Conductive

A common method for determining conductivity is to specify the bulk resistivity in ohm-cm. This is the resistance of a 1 cm x 1 cm x 1 cm cube with full face contact on two opposite surfaces. Proto-Pasta Conductive PLA is a composition of natural 4043D PLA, a dispersant, and conductive industrial carbon black. The filament is very flexible and is also compatible with any 3D printer that can process PLA filament.

4. Proto-pasta Magnetic iron

Proto-Pasta Magnetic Iron PLA at 1.75 mm, as the name suggests, reacts to magnets and behaves similarly to pure iron, even in terms of rusting. Magnetism opens up a new world of practical applications and enables creative projects.

The filament is more abrasive than standard PLA. Use may lead to accelerated nozzle wear. Please use stainless steel or hardened nozzles!

Proto-Pasta Magnetic Iron PLA is a blend of Nature 4043D PLA and finely ground iron powder. In filament form, it is somewhat brittle and should be handled with care to avoid breakage.
