Synology MR2200ac
Synology MR2200ac
A basic question: Is it possible to connect a disk station (e.g. Synology D918+) via LAN with the MR2200ac and to establish an internet connection via wifi with the router Rt2600ac using the access point function of the MR2200ac? Since my internet connection in the flat is very inconveniently located, I would like to have my NAS in another room where, however, the internet connection would have to be established via wifi as just described. Would this be possible and does it make sense? Thank you very much for your feedback.
Yes, that works.
I have a TV on another floor. On this TV I watch videos that I stream on the Synology.
Setup: "Modem with internet connection" <=LAN=> "RT2600ac" <=WLAN=> "MR2200ac" <=LAN=> "Synology DS".
The residual risk is that the signal of the WLAN connection between the "RT2600ac" and the "MR2200ac" is not strong enough. The result would be a slow WLAN connection that is not suitable for streaming films.
The WLAN signal problem could be solved with a DEVOLO. I set this up at a colleague's house.
Setup: "Modem with internet connection" <=LAN=> "RT2600ac" <=DEVOLO Magic 2 Starter Kit=> "MR2200ac" <=WLAN=> "TV".
Yes, it should work. However, the connection to the Rt2600ac must then be via wifi.
