Question about Synology DS218j
Can I format the hard drive for two different parties, once for Microsoft and Apple files? The problem is that Apple wants to unformat the external hard drive because I want to make a backup and that is only possible if the hard drive is reformatted. But I would also like to save Microsoft files so that I have everything in the same place. Is this possible with the Synology as it has 2 different hard drives on it (2x2TB) or do I understand something wrong (sorry I'm not a specialist)?

I'm not quite sure if this is possible. However, it should be possible via the disc's settings page. It's best to check directly with the manufacturer on the site or ask, to be on the safe side.
