Can I operate this camera with a hotspot via mobile? If there is no WLAN available?

In principle, yes, but the hotspot should always be available, otherwise it doesn't make sense. I would recommend using an LTE router with a SIM card.

I haven't tried it because it runs via WLAN.
Should actually work with a hotspot. The data is stored locally in the camera and can be accessed with the mobile.
Unfortunately, what doesn't work for me is cloud storage ($2.99/mth) because the camera is not found during installation.
Cloud storage would make sense especially if it runs 24/7 via a WLAN, not just sporadically via a hotspot.
