Question about Brother Ads-2700w

Can I scan a document with a staple or could the scanner be damaged? I have to staple 2 pages together from time to time using a thin staple. I would then have to scan the first page. Can I do this without any problems or could the scanner be damaged in the process? With a lay-on scanner like the ones in many multi-printers, this is no problem, but with the Brother 2700, the sheet is pulled through rollers, correct? What do you think?

Hello fish scale
You can't do that with this document scanner with paper feed-through! And yes it is harmful to the machine. (A) it causes paper jams as the machine will try to separate the two papers, and (B) the metal staple scratches the glass of the CIS unit and the "pressure plate" on the CIS glass.
The only solution is to separate the papers before scanning or to use another device with a flatbed scanner, e.g. PDS-5000F, PDS-6000F (or MFC or DCP printer as described by you).
