Personally, no advertising. Maybe because I never read anything online. Everything is installed directly in the device.

P. S. The recommendations appear as a horizontal list, just like on Amazon's website when you are on a book page. They don't look like ads, just a scrolling list of books that more or less match the content of your search... It's even very useful, but if you don't need them, you don't notice them. And yes, they are still there, but not at all intrusive.

The adverts aren't annoying at all, they're just recommendations that appear at the bottom of the main page when you're there, and only there... They don't interrupt anything at all, I don't even notice them 😂. This is my third Kindle and I love it. Couldn't live without it. Good luck 👍
