Device gets very hot and battery discharges quickly. Running time less than a day with moderate use. Is this a known phenomenon?

Unfortunately, I know this too... Even a Custom ROM did not solve the problem

Doesn't happen with me. Did you put an app with a crypto miner (i.e. malware) on it?
