Question about Bose Companion 2 Serie III

Hello, 1) can the connected headphones be adjusted louder or softer with the volume control (from experience this is not self-evident)? 2) Is the sound also passable with headphones or is the signal from the PC (minimal audio equipment) passed through or forwarded unprocessed without amplification? I would like to replace older PC speakers and had to find out that the ones with USB power supply as they are offered more and more are no good. I just don't understand this, there are Bluetooth speakers that sound better but nobody manages to build decent PC speakers. I've been researching for some time and think that these Bose Companion speakers could be an alternative, at least I hope so. If anyone can provide any information, thanks in advance.

Question 1: Yes, the headphones can be turned up or down via the volume control.
Question 2: The signal from the sound card PC is "looped through" unprocessed and without amplification.
