Question about Goal Zero Anderson to 8mm connector
Hello, can the adapter be used to connect to a Boulder 200 Briefcase and charge a Yeti 500x or Yeti 1500x on the 8mm input socket - or will this overload the input (as max. 120 W on the 8mm input). Does anyone have any experience? Sincerely
Yes, it works, I tried it. Have fun.
The 8mm draws max. 120W, the APP connection 600W (max reference power of all connections), the charging time for the APP with 200W panel is thus reduced to 6 to 12h compared to the 8mm input with 100W panel 12-24h.
My Yeti1000 has two 8mm so I could charge 2x120Watts (voltage of both panels must be the same).
The 8mm must not receive more than 50V!! otherwise the unit can be damaged.
Regarding wattage, the 200W should be regulated at the 8mm (without warranty), so to your question, yes, it should work.
Why do you want to change the 1500 from APP to 8mm with the adapter, I don't understand, if you connect the panel APP cable directly to the APP connection you can supply 600 watts.
