Hello Digitec Community Can the microphone only be connected to the sound card via the jack plug? I have read that a USB connection is necessary.

The microphone itself has a complete (USB) sound card built in. When you connect the microphone to the PC, you will therefore see a second sound card with microphone and headphone output. The headphones can be connected to the jack socket (which can also be used for sounds from the PC).
Looping the microphone through to another sound card would be a rather curious setting...
Personally, I don't use the headphone output on the mic anyway, because I hear noise there (not from the mic.). That also has the typical USB mic noise. But they are different and quieter).
