Hello, I would like to replace the Wingo router (1st generation Swisscom router) as it is very poor and slow. According to Wingo (https://www.wingo.ch/de/kann-ich-fuer-wingo-internet-meinen-eigenen-router-verwenden-0) this should work. Do you know if this router works and what do I have to buy to make it work properly and with the full speed of 1GBit?

The router works; however, buy a more recent version such as the ASUS RT-AX88U.

As described on WINGO, there are several ways to connect.
- You use the modem function from the supplied part and connect the router. The AC88U/AX88U does not have a modem.
- You buy a DSL router (if you have the connection via DSL) e.g. this one: ASUS DSL-AC88U AC3100 or a Firtzbox. Study the manufacturer's page to see what might be suitable for you; there are a variety of models (DSL, fibre etc.).

Personally, I always use the operator's device as a modem (WLAN etc. is deactivated) and use a real router; preferably from ASUS.
