The controller uses a wired connection via a Lightning port to connect to the phone. It does not have a USB-C socket, but connects directly to the Lightning port of compatible iOS devices. This wired Lightning connection ensures very low latency and excellent responsiveness, while allowing pass-through charging to power the device during use.
