All the adapters can take away the joy of Rode. But I can't say where the problem is. On the off chance: Maybe it still needs the SC3 between the mic and the Rode mobile transmitter? That was the problem for me. RØDE SC3 TRRS to TRS Adapter
Shouldn't be a problem with the newer Rode Funkmic.

Have only worked with it on iPad and iPhone so far...there it works flawlessly and with very good results. I'll report back when I've tried it with Macbook pro...
